MDOP at Kent Island High School

PRESS RELEASE

INCIDENT:    MDOP

DATE/TIME:  5/5/2012 @ 1024 Hours (Reported)

LOCATION:  900 Love Point Road, Stevensville

VICTIM:        Kent Island High School

NARRATIVE: School personnel discovered that the entrance sign to Kent Island High School had been vandalized. Damage included “QA” spray painted in green on both sides of the sign. In addition the sign had been shot with a shotgun using a slug and birdshot. Damage to the sign was estimated at over $1000.

A nearby resident advised that he heard gunshots at around 2115 hours on the evening of the 4th but thought it was fireworks somewhere in the community. At this time the investigation is unsure if the incident is related to a baseball loss earlier in the day, to the KIHS Prom held on the 5th  or a random act.
