INCIDENT:        Traffic Stop – Possession of CDS

DATE/TIME:      01/02/2012 @ 2228 Hours

LOCATION:      Main Street & School House Road, Grasonville

ARREST:          Alan Jerome Katlic (32) of Chester, MD

CHARGE:          Possession of CDS – Marijuana

 

NARRATIVE:     Deputy Harris stopped a silver Saturn Van for a speeding violation and identified the driver as Alan Katlic. During the traffic stop Mr. Katlic stated he had martial Arts weapons in the vehicle and was carrying a knife. During a pat down, a smoking device and a small baggie of suspected marijuana was located in Mr. Katlic’s pants.  He was later released with charges pending. Charges were applied for on January 6th and a Criminal Summons has been issued.

INCIDENT:        Burglary / Assault

DATE/TIME:      01/03/2012 @ 0343 Hours

LOCATION:      Oyster Cove Drive, Grasonville, MD

VICTIM:            Jeffrey Griffin of Annapolis & Monica Wheeler of Grasonville

ARREST:          Joseph Franklin Wheeler III (35) of Chestertown

CHARGE:          Burglary & Assault

 

NARRATIVE:     Ms. Wheeler reported be awaken to find her ex-husband in her home and was assaulting her male friend Jeffrey Griffin. Ms. Wheeler got her ex to stop hitting Mr. Griffin at which time Joseph Wheeler fled the residence. Investigation found no sign of forced entry and it’s believed he knew where a spare key was located and used it to enter the residence. Mr. Griffin advised he was asleep and woke up when Mr. Wheeler jumped on him and began to punch him in the face. Mr. Griffin had visible lacerations to his face and neck.

 

Joseph Wheeler has been charged with Assault, Burglary, Theft and Trespass. He was arrested on January 3rd and released on his own recognizance.

LOCATION:      Queenstown Outlets

VICTIM:            Subway

 

NARRATIVE:     The employee opening the business found a window smashed and upon further checking saw that the safe had been opened and the deposit bag containing an undisclosed amount of money missing. Security video shows a male suspect breaking the window and entering the business at about 0130 Hours. A second male is also seen acting as a lookout outside the store. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Unit at the Sheriff’s Office by calling (410) 758-0770.

LOCATION:      100 Block of Berry Court, Chestertown

VICTIM:            Thomas & Kim Middleton

 

NARRATIVE:     Residents returned from work and discovered that a container that cash was kept in was missing about $200 cash. Upon looking further it was found that another container with change was also missing.  There was no sign of forced entry however it was reported that friends of the couple were at the house while they were not home. Investigation remains open.

NARRATIVE:     Victim reported finding his 2003 Infinity damaged while parked in his driveway. It appeared to have been scratched on the door and estimated at $1000 damage. Victim advised it could be related to a recent break-up of a relationship.

DATE/TIME:      01/04/2012 @ 1439 Hours

LOCATION:      Kent Island Fire Department, Main Street, Chester

VICTIM:            Male (43) of Annapolis

 

NARRATIVE:     Members of the KI Fire Department reported that a vehicle in their parking lot was occupied by a male subject threatening to harm himself. The subject’s mother was driving the vehicle and stopped at the firehouse for help. She advised the male had tried to jump out of the vehicle while moving. The male appeared to be intoxicated and may have taken a large amount of prescription drugs. As assistance went to the vehicle, the male attempted to assault the fireman, who held him until Sheriff’s Deputies arrived. The subject was transported by patrol car toAnneArundelMedicalCenter for treatment.

NARRATIVE:     Victim advised she had returned home and found that unknown person(s) had attempted to gain entry to her home by prying an exterior door. No entry was made into the house and the incident occurred between 12/28 and 01/01. Damage was estimated at $100.

NARRATIVE:     A family member reported getting text messages from the female threatening to harm herself. The female was located walking nearMain Street and stated she was upset over a friend’s death. She was later transported to Easton Memorial for treatment.

NARRATIVE:     Dfc. Chris Parkinson, School Resource Deputy was notified of a student who had taken possible fatal overdose of prescription medicine. Other evidence indicated the girl wanted to harm herself and she was transported toAnneArundelMedicalCenter for treatment.

LOCATION:      3703 Barclay Road, Templeville

VICTIM:            Templeville Community Church

 

NARRATIVE:     A member of the church reported finding someone had entered the church and stolen an Acer Desktop computer and a Sony DVD/VCR unit from the sound cubicle. Entry appeared to have been made thru a window. While checking the grounds for evidence, the DVD/VCR unit was located near the trash dumpster. The computer and monitor were valued at $700.
