Suspect (1): Courtland Quincy Goldsboro (28) of Flat Iron Square Road, Church Hill

Synopsis:  On November 15th, members of the Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force observed Courtland Goldsboro and Nicholas Carroll traveling together and based on an investigation they believed the men were transporting an amount of heroin intended for resale in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland.

 

At approximately 2015 hours investigators observed Carroll’s 2003 Ford Focus operating in the Stevensville area. Investigators alerted uniformed troopers and TFC Pope of the Centreville Barrack was able to develop probable cause and effected a traffic stop at Route 50 @ Nesbitt Road Grasonville, DFC Martz and K-9 Spike of the QA County Sheriff’s Office conducted a scan of the vehicle and K-9 Spike alerted to the odor of a controlled dangerous substance. A search revealed 56.2 grams of raw heroin hidden in a fake ice tea can inside the Ford Focus and $1490.00 in U.S. Currency on Goldsboro’s person.

 

When Goldsboro and Carroll were informed they were under arrest, Goldsboro attempted to flee and after a short foot chase he was apprehended as he tried to run through a nearby swampy area.

 

The heroin recovered has a current street value in Queen Anne’s County of approximately $9,000.00. Based on the amount heroin recovered Carroll’s 2003 Focus was seized.

 

Goldsboro, who has a prior history for CDS violations, has been charged with fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, failing to obey a lawful order, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin and possession of paraphernalia.

 

Carroll, who has no identifiable criminal history, has been charged with the possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin and the possession of paraphernalia.

 

Both subjects are being held at the QA Detention Center. Goldsboro was held without bond and Carroll was held on a $25,000.00 bond.
