INCIDENT:            Theft

DATE / TIME:      10/24/2013 @ 0940 Hours

LOCATION:           Foster Court , Chester

VICTIM: Jason P. Olbrich / Helen A. Bennett

 

NARRATIVE:        Victims reported placing envelopes containing checks in their mailboxes on Thursday. One of the victim’s later saw an African American male driving a black Mitsubishi Gallant stop and remove the checks from his mailbox. Both victims contacted their banks to stop payment on the stolen checks. A search of the area failed to locate the suspect.

DATE / TIME:      10/24/2013 @ 1117 Hours

LOCATION:           Congressional Drive, Stevensville

VICTIM: Rosemary Murtha of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:        Victim reported sometime between October 17th and the 24th unknown person(s) entered the residence and stole a large amount of jewelry including a Diamond Princess Cut Necklace, a Round Chocolate Diamond Ring, a Canary Diamond Ring with Raised Solitaire, a Band Style Blue Diamond Ring, a 1.5 K. White Diamond Engagement Ring, a Yellow Gold & Diamond Bracelet with add-a–link 1.74 K, Gold Coins from the Atocha Ship Wreck, a Gold Lacrosse Stick Bangle with Diamonds in the net, and a Man’s Rolex Black Face Watch with Diamonds. Loss was estimated over $75K.

LOCATION:           629 Romancoke Road, Stevensville

VICTIM: Corinne Cox of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:        Victim reported parking her car at Mowbray Park and going for a walk. Victim stated she left the vehicle unlocked with the keys in it. Upon returning about 15 minutes later she realized that her keys, a Toshiba laptop and charger, a Northface backpack with books, perfume and her license and bank cards. Her loss was estimated at $1200.

LOCATION:           Cecil Drive, Chester

VICTIM: John B. Armacost of Chester

 

NARRATIVE:        Family members stopping at the residence found a window had been broken and entry made to the residence. Deputies checked the residence without locating anyone in the house. Nothing was reported missing. Investigation continues.

DATE / TIME:      10/24/2013 @ 1920 Hours

LOCATION:           RT 304 / Ruthsburg Road, Centreville

 

ARREST:                 William Franklin Shaulis (29) of Centreville

CHARGE:                DWI

 

NARRATIVE:        A blue Ford pickup was  traveling west on RT 304 stopped for an equipment violation and minor traffic offenses as it entered the truck stop parking lot. As the deputy approached the truck it lurched forward and then stopped again. Driver was identified as William Shaulis. A strong odor of alcohol was present and observations of the driver’s condition, he was placed under arrest without field sobriety tasks being attempted.

 

After processing and citations, he was released to a family member.

LOCATION:           900 Block of Petinot Place, Stevensville

VICTIM: Robert Wehland of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:        Victim reported finding his 2002 Ford Truck had been damaged by being “Keyed”. Damages were estimated at $2000.

LOCATION:           500 Bayside Drive, Stevensville

VICTIM: Male (29) of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:        Deputies called for a disturbance at a residence on Bayside Drive. Investigation showed a female homeowner had a friend over and a former friend saw a vehicle parked in the yard, used a key to the residence and entered the house. A physical confrontation began with one male being taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for what appeared to be a minor head injury. Charges are pending.

LOCATION:           1300 Block of Perry Corner Road, Grasonville

VICTIM: Lisa Dorrell of Grasonville

 

NARRATIVE:        Victim found that a wine bottle had been thrown at her plastic mailbox and went thru the side sometime during the night. The mailbox was valued at $80.

LOCATION:           1406 Main Street, Stevensville

VICTIM: Western Auto

 

NARRATIVE:        Store manager reported an employee had left four aluminum rims outside the bay door to the garage by mistake. Surveillance footage shows a box truck with a dark stripe in the box portion in the area during the night. The rims were valued at $1500.

LOCATION:           Main Street in Queenstown

VICTIM: Marsha Hughes of Suffolk Virginia

 

NARRATIVE:        Realtor handling the sale of the house found a window damaged and that someone had removed a hot water heater, stove and two baseboard heater units from the residence.  Value of the items and damages were estimated under $500.

LOCATION:           Beach Harbor Drive, Grasonville

VICTIM: Danny Williams of Rockville, MD

Brenda Williams of Olney, MD

 

NARRATIVE:        Mr. Williams at the campground to winterize his trailer and discovered he had no power. Checking the exterior he discovered the wire had been cut from the power box to the trailer (about 30 feet). Checking his neighbors trailers he found none of them had been tampered with, however checking his sister’s trailer nearby found it had also been cut. The wire was estimated at $300. Damages were not estimated as the power company advised victim would need to contact an electrician.
