DEATH INVESTIGATION

 

On March 15 at 2207 Hours, Deputies were dispatched to the Friendly Food & Gas Station on Main Street in Stevensville for an unresponsive male subject in the bathroom of the store.

 

The clerk working advised he noticed that someone had been in the bathroom for an extended amount of time and knocked on the door. After getting no response he called 911.

 

When deputies arrived they also attempted to contact the person inside and after getting no response, forced the door open and found a deceased later identified as Gary Xavier Paul (74) of Chester.

 

Investigation included a review of the store’s camera footage which showed that Paul had entered the bathroom almost 10 hours earlier. Based on evidence found with the deceased, the death is believed to be of natural causes and an existing medical condition. The body was removed to a local funeral home.

Thefts from Vehicles

Deputies are investigating several reports of tampering with vehicle in the Bishop Meadows community just off RT 301 Queenstown. One victim reported the theft of $5.00 of coins taken from her unlocked Ford truck. A second victim reported $60 was taken from her husband’s unlocked vehicle.

 

Videos from that morning between 0130 to 0230 hours show three suspects trying doors on vehicles at additional residences with nothing taken.

 

There was no damage reported to any of the vehicles. INCIDENT:           Domestic / Possession CDS

DATE / TIME:      02/27/2017 @ 1338 Hours

LOCATION:         Queenstown Premium Outlets, Queenstown

 

ARREST:               Antwine Terrell Thomas (28) of Cambridge, MD

 

DETAILS:              Deputies responded to the Outlets for a report of a domestic in front of Subway. Just prior to arrival, it was reported the two subjects were leaving in a white Pontiac.

 

The 1st Deputy arriving saw the car and stopped it as it left. The occupants advised it was only a verbal argument and no one had been assaulted. The driver was identified as Antwine Terrell Thomas and a MVA check indicated he was suspended.

 

A K9 Deputy then arrived and during the scan, Thomas stated there was a small amount of marijuana under the console. The marijuana and some paraphernalia was located and seized.

 

Thomas was issued a civil citation for the marijuana and issued three must appear traffic citations.

INCIDENT:           DWI

DATE / TIME:      02/27/2017 @ 2125 Hours

LOCATION:         RT 304 @ Safety Drive, Centreville

 

ARREST:               Janet Lynn Pfisterer (62) of Centreville

 

DETAILS:              Deputy stopped a Toyota Rav 4 on RT 304 for an equipment violation. Driver was noted to have glassy eyes, slurred speech and with a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. When asked for her driver’s license it took multiple times to locate it.

 

Driver stated she had a medical condition and was returning from Pittsburgh, then later she was coming from work and denied having any drinks.

 

Attempts at several field sobriety tasks indicated she had been drinking. Prior to being arrested, a medic was requested to check Pfisterer’s medical condition and she was found to OK. At that time she was placed under arrest and charged with DWI.

 

She was later released to a sober driver.

INCIDENT:           Assault

DATE / TIME:      03/11/2017 @ 1606 Hours

LOCATION:         Wye Point Farm, Queenstown, MD

 

DETAILS:              Deputies were dispatched to location for an assault. Deputies located both parties and each claimed the other had been the aggressor. One individual had been kicked in the leg and had called for a paramedic while the other had been sprayed with “bear mace”.

 

When interviewed neither party wanted to proceed with charges.

INCIDENT:           DWI

DATE / TIME:      03/12/2017 @ 0018 Hours

LOCATION:         RT 18 & Wharf Drive, Chester

 

ARREST:               Mary Lynn Wright (57) of Greensboro, MD

 

DETAILS:              Deputy observed a white Nissan pickup driving over the center line after going thru the traffic circle at RT 18 and Castle Marina. The truck was followed east on RT 18 and crossed the center line again and was stopped at RT 18 and Wharf Road.

 

Driver was identified as Mary Lynn Wright who when asked stated she had had an alcoholic beverage earlier. She was asked to attempt field sobriety tasks and agreed. According to the deputy’s observation she was unable to complete them satisfactory. She was then placed under arrest for DWI.

 

She was issued citations for DWI and failure to obey designated lane directions. After paperwork was completed she was released at the scene to a sober family member.
