INCIDENT:           Burglary / False Report

DATE / TIME:      03/11/2016 @ 0934 Hours

LOCATION:         400 Block of Queens Drive, Queenstown, MD

DETAILS:              Victim’s son reported returning home and finding the residence burglarized. Items reported missing included video game console and numerous games, several expensive watches, a 9 Shot .22 revolver, a laptop computer, jewelry and  two additional revolvers a Colt 1911 .45 US Navy and a .45 revolver unknown make. Victim’s son advised that his parents were away in another state and they were contacted by telephone.

Upon the victims returned it was discovered that numerous additional pieces of jewelry and tools were missing. The family members advised they felt that the incident was not an actual burglary and the son was likely involved.

Based on their suspicions, area pawn shops, jewelry stores and gun shops were contacted and the pawn database checked. As a result it was learned that Dwayne Eric Schoene (29) of Queenstown had recently pawned jewelry, an X-Box and power tools. At the same time a friend of Schoene’s had also pawned women’s jewelry and tools.  Some of the missing items were still at the various stores and were recovered, however other items had already been sold. Several pawned items not reported were also checked out with the victim identifying a camera and drill. A Nintendo Game system that had been a Christmas gift to the suspect’s child was also recovered. In addition, coins and jewelry were also pawned in Annapolis.

On March 16th the victims reported that five rifles, two bayonets and a sword had been taken from the home in the past few hours and again they believed that Dwayne Schoene had taken the items. On March 17th Dwayne Schoene was located at his parents home and taken into custody and charged with four counts of burglary and Theft (10K-100K). At the time of his arrest, Schoene’s drug kit was also located containing syringes, a cook spoon, a shoe lace, lighter and suspected heroin.

After processing Schoene was held on a $100,000 bail for burglary and an additional  $15,000 for CDS Charges.

The victims contacted deputies and advised that they had looked in their son’s car and found receipts for the long guns from a gun shop in Easton. The shop was contacted and arranged to recover all of those firearms.
