NARRATIVE:         A white male was observed placing video games in his jacket and left the store without making a purchase. The subject was stopped outside the store by security staff and seven games valued at $114 were recovered. The male wearing a black hat and jacket fled the location in an older model red GMC SUV. LOCATION:           Pinkney Park, 1801 Dudley Corners Road, Millington

SUSPECT:            Male (31) from Chestertown (QA)

NARRATIVE:         Deputy checking the park observed a male seated in a tan Lexus with his head bowed forward. When he went to check on the subject, the deputy saw the man was holding a zippered bag in one hand and a small smoking device in his right. When the man lowered the window, the odor of marijuana was noted. A search of the car resulted in the seizure of the bag with suspected marijuana and the smoking device with suspected burnt CDS. Items were sent to the lab for testing and the man was released with charges pending.

INCIDENT:            Missing Person / Medical Emergency

DATE / TIME:       04/07/2014 @ 0445 Hours

LOCATION:           3206 Main Street, Grasonville

VICTIM:  Female (38) from Crofton

ARREST:               Pending

CHARGE:              Assault, MDOP, Resisting Arrest

 

NARRATIVE:         Units responded to  a hotel in Grasonville for a check the welfare call for a female who had stated in the lobby that she was going to jump off the bridge. Deputies went to the room and attempted to make contact. After no response they used a management key card and went in the room and located the woman with blood on her arms and shirt. A further checked indicated she was listed as a missing person in Anne Arundel County which also had an emergency petition for her.

 

At this point the woman became violent standing on the bed swinging a table lamp and was subdued electronically. While trying to place handcuffs on the woman she threw the lamp striking a deputy in the chest.

 

Anne Arundel Police responded and took custody of the woman transporting her to a medical facility as directed on the Emergency Petition. Charges for assault, resisting and MDOP to the hotel room have been filed and a Criminal Summons is on file.

VICTIM:  Henrika Cotton of Chester

ARREST:               Norman Franklin Cotton (67) of Chester

CHARGE:              Assault

 

NARRATIVE:         Deputies responded to the residence for a domestic assault. Ms. Cotton reported that her husband had knocked her dinner plate out of her hands, grabbed her by the throat and struck her head onto the wall. Evidence was present that the incident had occurred and placed Mr. Cotton under arrest. Ms. Cotton was transported to the Emergency Room in Grasonville for treatment. After processing Norman Cotton was initially held on a $2500 bail.

NARRATIVE:         Deputy on patrol observed the female in a driveway on Main Street and she appeared to be distraught and flagged him down. When talking to her, the female stated she needed to go to a hospital and that she was having thoughts of harming herself. She was transported by patrol car to Anne Arundel Medical Center for assistance.

INCIDENT:            Theft from Vehicle

DATE / TIME:       04/09/2014 @ 1645 Hours

LOCATION:           113 St. Claire Place, Stevensville

VICTIM:  Jessica Maher of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:         Victim advised she stopped to pick up her child at daycare leaving her purse in her locked Honda passenger vehicle. When she returned to the vehicle approximately 5 minutes later, she found her driver’s window shattered and her black Kate Spade purse missing. Items in the stolen purse included two pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses, her engagement and wedding ring, and a diamond necklace. The loss was estimated at $15,000.

 

Investigation of the incident found that 15 minutes after the theft was reported, the victim’s credit card was used at Bay Mart on Old Mill Bottom Road in Anne Arundel County. The suspect is an African-American Male wearing camo pants, black t-shirt with a design on front and a knitted hat with a “puff Ball” on top. The suspect was driving an unknown make large black car.  (See Pictures) Anyone recognizing the suspect is urged to call the Sheriff‘s Office at (410) 758-0770

INCIDENT:            Tampering with Vehicles / Burglary

DATE / TIME:       04/11/2014 @ 0620 Hours (Reported)

LOCATION:           Round Top Road, Chestertown (QA)

VICTIM:  See Narrative

 

NARRATIVE:         Elizabeth Lister reported someone had entered her vehicle during the night and had taken a debit card and $20. A second individual, Edgar Sutton stopped and reported someone had gone into his vehicle further up the road but nothing appeared to have been taken. Later two additional calls were received from Round Top area. Deborah Parkinson stated that someone had entered her unlocked vehicles and taken chargers for various electronic devices. Irene Redding reported someone had been in her vehicle and left the console open but nothing appeared to be missing. She also stated that she had found her pocket book and mail from inside her home in the yard and the trash can outside indicating someone entered her house during the night. In all cases the vehicles and residence had been left unlocked.

 

Surveillance photos of the suspects were located and show two hooded individuals with backpacks. (See Photos). Anyone recognizing the two is urged to call the Sheriff‘s Office at (410) 758-0770.

NARRATIVE:         Deputies dispatched to a residence in Grasonville for a report of a male off his medications and walking naked exposing himself to various family members. In talking with the man, he was confused and unable to answer basic questions. It appeared that he had been off medication for at least a week. He was transported via ambulance to Easton Memorial Hospital for treatment.

LOCATION:           1114 Shopping Center Road, Stevensville, MD

VICTIM:  Bank of America

 

NARRATIVE:         Suspect entered the bank and showed the teller a note demanding money and indicated she had a weapon. The suspect was described as a white female 5’3-5’5” and a thin build with long hair (possibly a wig), a baseball hat, sunglasses, white shirt shorts and sandals. After getting cash which included $200 of Two Dollar Bills, the suspect left the bank and last seen on foot heading towards Main Street. She may have fled the area in a silver older model passenger car with Virginia plates also occupied by an African American male. (Suspect Photo Attached)

TRAFFIC ARRESTS

 

Charles Edwin McGill Jr. (47) of Vineland, NJ. Stopped on April 5th @ 2235 Hours by Dfc. Seth Ambrose for a speeding violation. The stop occurred on Main Street Chester near Piney Narrows Road. After DWI charges were completed, he was released to a sober friend.

 

Abel Alonzo Morales (26) of Templeville, MD. Dfc. Jessica Kellogg stopped a silver Honda on Rt. 302 near Barclay for a headlight out at 2323 Hours on 4/6. Driver advised he hadn’t gotten a license yet and odor of alcohol was present. Morales was charged with DWI and Driving without a license and initially held on a $2000 Bond.

 

Susan Leigh Krauss (45) of Queenstown, MD. On April 9th @ 0211 Hours Deputy Brad Martz observed a white Ford Taurus going at a slow speed and swerving in several lanes on RT 50 near Nesbit Road. Ms. Krauss after Field Sobriety Tasks were attempted was charged with DWI. After citations were issued, she was released to a sober friend who had responded to the location.

NARRATIVE:       Store Security observed a female later identified as Grace J. Bennett of Stevensville placing pens, crayons and a journal in her purse and the exited the store without paying. She was stopped by store security and the items valued at $23 was recovered. She was released at the scene and charged later on a Criminal Summons.

NARRATIVE:       Deputies responded to a residence on Bayside Drive for an altercation between two females (ages 59 and 83). On arrival both claimed to be victims with nether subject showing any apparent injury. They neither wanted to press charges and were advised of the process if they changed their mind. One of the females voluntarily left the residence for the night.

NARRATIVE:       Male subject got into an argument with a family member and threatened to harm himself with a steak knife. Subject advised he was depressed and had considered killing himself. The male was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center by Patrol Car for treatment.

NARRATIVE:       Deputies responded to the location for a male (64) & female (49) in a heated argument. On arrival it was reported that the two were longtime ex-partners and something had been said that caused them to slap each other. No apparent injury and neither wanted criminal charges. They were advised of their options and one of the subjects left.

ARREST:              Michael Nathaniel Reives (41) of Grasonville

Clifton Collins (42) of Grasonville

CHARGE:            Reives: Possession of CDS & Resisting Arrest

Collins: Possession of CDS, False Statement, Fraudulent Identity to avoid Arrest

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputies responded to Sampson Lane for a reported suspicious vehicle. On arrival they located a white Dodge Charger with two occupants. The driver was identified as Michael Reives and a computer check revealed an outstanding warrant with MSP Centreville. As the deputy attempted to place him under arrest, he began to resist and had to be electronically subdued. Reives was found to have a smoking device with suspected cocaine in his pocket.

 

The passenger gave his name as Steve Smith but didn’t have any ID and was detained. A search of and around the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected crack cocaine and a Ziploc baggie with several prescription bottles in the name of Clifton Collins Jr. After being placed under arrest, the subject admitted his name was Clifton Collins Jr.

 

Reives was placed on a $5000 Bond and Collins on a $25,000 Bond. Both posted with the assistance of a bail bondsman and were released.

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported parking his truck at the business park and leaving it unlocked. On his way home, he realized that a fanny pack containing his dentures, a prescription bottle and $20 in change was missing. The items were valued at over $4000.

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported his blue & brown golf cart was missing from his campsite. The golf cart was kept under a tarp and had a Dodge Ram hood ornament , lift kit and a wooden tray where the backseat should be. The thieves also took the tarp and bike lock that was on the cart. The golf cart was valued at $3000.

NARRATIVE:       Deputy responded to the store for a reported disturbance. The clerk there reported having an verbal altercation with a female customer and her husband and several items for sale were damaged. The clerk advised when she picked up a tire iron and told the woman to leave, she did so. The owner of the store, Elizabeth Wyatt reported the damage of $69. The female customer and husband were contacted and stated that the clerk had started the incident and had damaged the items. At the request of the store owner, the two customers were barred from the store.

NARRATIVE:       Store Security observed a female (later identified as a 50 yoa Chester resident) make a purchase of items, then return to the store and begin to add items from the cosmetic section to her bags. She then added two magazines and two rugs to the cart before exiting the store at the garden center. She was stopped and returned to the store by security. The $59 of merchandise was recovered. The woman was identified and released at the scene with charges pending.
