INCIDENT:          Theft

DATE / TIME:     05/22/2014 @ 1527 Hours

LOCATION:         200 Kent Landing, Stevensville

VICTIM:              K Mart

CHARGE:            Theft

 

NARRATIVE:       Security at K Mart observed a female loading a cart with items and then proceeded to the home goods area where she placed the items into a clothes hamper and then exit the store without paying for the items. Items valued at $159 were recovered including a trash basket, toilet paper and numerous consumable items.

 

The woman was identified and released with charges pending. Joanna Catherine Mason (23) of Chester was served a Criminal Summons for theft on May 28th.

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported returning home from vacation and finding several window screens and doors damaged.  No entry appears to have been made and the damage was estimated at $1500.

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported recently purchasing a 12 Camo Aluminum boat, trailer and a 3 HP motor and parked it in her driveway. On May 22nd the boat was seen there at 2200 hours. At 0530 the next morning the boat, motor and trailer valued at $650 were gone.

LOCATION:         100 Block of Cheslou Road, Chester

VICTIM:              Mark J. Johnson of Chester

ARREST:              Jennifer Marie Johnson (32) of Chester

CHARGE:            Assault

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim was at the QA Emergency Room at Grasonville and reported he was separated from his wife and had stopped at the residence to get a few things. While there, his wife Jennifer had become angry and threw several items at him, and the struck and kicked him causing his nose to bleed.

 

Contact was made with the wife who admitted to assaulting Mr. Johnson and she was placed under arrest for assault. She was processed at Sheriff Headquarters and later released on her own recognizance.

LOCATION:         400 block of Stafford Road and 800 Block of Salisbury Road, Stevensville

NARRATIVE:       Susan Howe of Stevensville advised someone had stolen her yellow & white Dooney & Bourke leather purse from her car while parked at her residence. The purse was empty as she had left it in the car to drop off at a cleaners. No damage was done to the car as it was unlocked and the purse was valued at $300.

 

At a nearby residence, Joseph Sheya reported someone had tampered with his vehicle but nothing was missing.

 

From the 800 block of Salisbury Way, Timothy Aland reported $20 of loose change in a cup was missing from his unlocked car.

LOCATION:         Terrapin Park, Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:       Two teenage girls from Stevensville advised they had ridden their skateboards to the park. Before heading to the beach, they hid the boards about 10 feet off the trail in a wooden area but on returning three hours later found them to be missing.

 

One was a Sector 9 Longboard with turquoise wheels and stickers valued at $200. The other was a Sector 8 tan longboard with orange wheels and a #8 pool ball over a city scene valued at $500.

NARRATIVE:       Mr. Stamp reported that six batteries from his golf cart had been stolen along with various cables valued at $600. The theft occurred sometime between October 2013 and today’s date (5/24).

 

A neighbor, Deborah Underwood reported six batteries taken from her golf cart as well also valued at $600. She advised the last time the cart was checked was summer of 2013.

ARREST:              Pamela Marie Ostrowski (46) of Grasonville

NARRATIVE:       Deputy responded to location for a domestic and on arrival could hear arguing. As he approached the door, he saw a male attempting to leave the residence with a female striking him. Based on observations and statements, Pamela Ostrowski was placed under arrest for assault.

ARREST:              Phyliss Dawn Brown (62) of Chester

Edward Arthur Ollek (69) of Chester

CHARGE:            Assault

 

NARRATIVE:       Report of a domestic on a boat at Castle Harbor Yacht Club. On arrival the two subjects were observed yelling at each other at the stern of the boat. Both subjects appeared to be intoxicated and both reported being assaulted by the other. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing and charges. Edward Ollek was later released on a $5000 unsecured bond. Phyliss Brown was held at the QA Detention Center on a $5000 Bail.

INCIDENT:          Theft from Motor Vehicle

DATE / TIME:     05/25/2014 @ 1100 Hours (Reported)

LOCATION:         7000 Block of Church Hill Road, Chestertown (QA)

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported the theft of $300 from a wallet in an unlocked car parked at the location sometime between 1200 on 5/24 to 0930 on 5/25. No other items were taken.

TRAFFIC ARRESTS

 

14-16722            On May 23rd a gold Honda Accord was stopped by Deputy Kevin Parks on Route 302 after failing to stop for a stop sign. With a strong odor of alcohol and numerous open containers in the car, the driver Pedro Domingo Aguilar (30) of Barclay was asked to step from the car. After  failing to complete field sobriety tasks, Pedro Aquilar was placed under arrest and charged with DWI, Driving without a license, driving while consuming alcohol and several other citations. He was later released on his signature.

 

14-16845            On May 24th it was reported that several persons had attempted to stop a impaired male from leaving Rolph’s Wharf Road on a motorcycle. As deputies were responding, the motorcycle was located on Schrader Road near RT 213. The bike was stopped and the driver identified as James Paul Peacock JR (40) of Galena. There was an odor of alcohol upon his breath and person and he was having difficulty putting the kickstand down. After several Field Sobriety tests, Mr. Peacock was charged with DWI and Negligent Driving. He was issued citations at the scene and released to a sober friend. Dfc. Kevin Parks made the arrest.

DATE / TIME:     05/16/2014 @ 1502 Hours

LOCATION:         200 Kent Landing Road, Stevensville

VICTIM:                             K-Mart

ARREST:              Brandon Thomas Roe (20) of Grasonville

Steven Douglas Smith (21) of Centreville

Rachel Maury Bowman (18) of Church Hill

CHARGE:            Theft under $100

 

NARRATIVE:       Security at the store observed three subjects concealing items on their person and attempted to exit the store without paying. One of the suspects, identified as Brandon Roe remained at the store when detained. The other two suspects, returned the items – Steven Smith pulled a fishing rod from his pants and Rachel Bowman had a reel in her purse. However when requested to remain, the two fled on foot. Several fishing lures were recovered from Roe’s pockets.

 

An attempt to locate was issued and Smith and Roe were located in the Thompson Creek Mall entering a pizza store. The two were placed in custody and returned to K-Mart where they were identified.

 

All three were then transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing & charges. A district court commissioner placed a $1000 on each of the suspects. All three managed to have bail posted and were released. It was also learned the Roe had an outstanding QA Arrest Warrant for burglary of a house on Burrsville Road in February. In that case $4000 damage had been done in order to take copper piping from the house. Bail in this case was set at $50,000.

LOCATION:         Stevensville, MD

VICTIM:                             Female (34) of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:       Family members reported that they had learned of possible suicidal messages being sent by the woman. When checking the residence they found that the female had left the residence in a vehicle. Sheriff’s Units began to check areas for the vehicle and located it parked in a parking lot at Matapeake. A search of the area located the woman on the beach unconscious. She was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center by ambulance.

LOCATION:         200 Block of Red Lion Branch Road, Millington

VICTIM:                             Jennifer L. Demarest of Millington

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported unknown person had broken into her residence and stolen a microwave and a television. Items were valued at $800. Investigation has identified two possible vehicles – a small white pickup and a Chevy Malibu being seen in the area.

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported her engagement ring and a necklace was missing from the 13th. The following days she found some video games, extension cords and scrap copper wire to be missing. Victim estimated the items to have a value of $2300.

INCIDENT:          Stolen Vehicle

DATE / TIME:     05/18/2014 @ 0417 Hours

LOCATION:         Courtyard Inn, 6336 Church Hill Road, Chestertown (QA)

VICTIM:                             Robert L. Thomas of Elkton

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported his 2012 Chevrolet Impala missing / stolen. The victim was believed to be intoxicated and could not advise where he last saw his car. A BOLO was issued for the car and investigating deputy checked several locations in the immediate area for the car.

 

On the following afternoon the car was located by Chestertown Police on Hadaway Drive. The car was locked and a note was left on the windshield by a friend of the victim advising where the keys were. The friend was contacted who advised she had found the car as she was leaving for work. The car had been left open with the keys in the ignition with the victim’s wallet and credit cards on the seat.

NARRATIVE:       Deputies responded to Zaidee Lane for an assault. On arrival they learned that father and son had been in an altercation. Witnesses advised the son, Cody Hill was the aggressor in the incident. Both subject had visible injuries and refused medical treatment.

 

An arrest warrant has been issued for Cody Scott Hill (20) of Baltimore for 2nd Degree assault.

NARRATIVE:       County employee reported that when he arrived at the location near the dog park to pick up the 2003 Kubota tractor, he found that both rear tires had been slashed. The tires were valued at $1000 each.

LOCATION:         Hibernia Farm Lane, Centreville

 

NARRATIVE:       Home owner outside of Centreville reported seeing a “drone” flying over her property on the 13th hovering 100-to 200 feet off the ground. Several days later when she had a large gathering, the device flew over again with what appeared to be a camera attached.

 

Her description of the “drone” is similar to items sold at specialty stores such as Sharper Image or Brookstone.

LOCATION:         400 Block of Legion Road, Millington

VICTIM:              Barbara Kinder of Millington

CHARGE:            Forgery, Uttering False Document / Theft

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported going to the store and unable to make a purchase due to her bank account being emptied. After checking with the bank and the location where numerous checks had been cashed, she realized the suspect was a family member.

Since April numerous checks had been written while making small purchases with a $50 cash payout, totaling nearly $700.

 

Based on the victim’s information and store video, an arrest warrant has been issued charging Corey James Freeman with Theft and Forgery.

LOCATION:         300 Block of Winchester Creek Road, Grasonville

VICTIM:              Tanya A. Robinson of Grasonville

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported her dog was barking while near the front door of the house. When she looked outside she saw two white males standing near a small green Ford truck on her property. Upon seeing her, the two got in the truck and left. A short time later, the victim’s husband found that two air conditioning units valued at $400 were missing.

 

The suspects were white males described as having a punk rock look. There was a large spool of wire in the bed of the truck. A search of the area failed to locate the suspect truck.

TRAFFIC:

 

14-16020            On 5/18 @ 2242 hours Dfc. Burns stopped a silver Ford Focus on Main Street in Chester for a minor traffic offense. After noticing the odor of alcohol coming from the car, the driver, Vernon Robert Schaffner (68) of Stevensville attempted several field sobriety tasks. After the attempt, Mr. Schaffner was placed under arrest for DWI.

 

After citations were issued, the subject was transported to his residence and released to his wife.
