PRESS RELEASES
 
INCIDENT: Theft
DATE / TIME: 07/21/17 @ 1033 hours
LOCATION: 1900 Block of Anchorage Drive, Stevensville, Md.
 
DETAILS: Dfc. Burns responded to the 100 block of Sallitt Drive, Stevensville, Maryland to meet with a subject for a report of a theft. Victim, Edward Matthew Turner (36 yo W/M) advised that 200 pounds of various fishing gear, such as fishing rods and fishing tackle were stolen from his boat over the course of the last 6-7 months. The victim does not know if the theft occurred from his residence in Queen Anne’s County (1900 block of Anchorage Drive, Stevensville, Md) or from another location outside our jurisdiction. The victim estimates the total value of the equipment stolen to be $4,267.93. Suspects are unknown at this time. Investigation is ongoing.

INCIDENT: Driving While Intoxicated
DATE AND: 7/22/17 at 0330 hours.
LOCATION: Maryland Route 301 near Route 305, Centreville
VICTIM: State of Maryland
 
NARRATIVE: On the above date and time, Dfc. Piasecki stopped a vehicle for a exceeding the posted speed limit. The driver was leaving a party in Dover, Delaware. Dfc. Piasecki could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s breath. The driver admitted to having one beer several hours prior. Dfc. Piasecki asked the driver to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety test. The driver failed all tests and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. The driver refused a breathalyzer test and was released to a sober driver after processing.

INCIDENT: Lost Property
DATE / TIME: 07/22/17 @ 1019 hours
LOCATION: 300 Block of Stoney Bar Bluff Road, Grasonville, Maryland
 
DETAILS: Deputy Sackrider and Dfc. R. Davidson responded to the scene and met with complainant, John Christ (52 yo w/m) who advised that the rear tag off his boat trailer (Md. Tag 092118X) is missing. The complainant does not know when he lost the tag or where. He last saw the trailer tag perhaps last week while he was getting gas but he is not certain of that. There is a cost of $161 to renew the tag with MVA.

INCIDENT: Traffic Violations leads to Outstanding Warrant Arrest
DATE AND TIME: 7/22/17 at 2230 hours.
LOCATION: Round Top Road near Round Top Park, Chester Harbor Chestertown
VICTIM: State of Maryland
 
NARRATIVE: On the above date and time, Dfc. Andrew Neall stopped a vehicle for traffic violations. As Deputy Neall inquired about the license status of the driver it was learned his driver’s license was suspended in the state of Delaware. Dfc. Neall completed wanted checks on the driver and the below listed male had outstanding warrants for Failure to Appear in District Court in Kent County Maryland. The driver was arrested and transported to the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff for processing. The male was held on $7500 bond.

INCIDENT: Possession of CDS not Marijuana
DATE AND TIME: 7/23/17 at 0105 hours.
LOCATION: Maryland Route 18 near Dundee Avenue, Chester
VICTIM: State of Maryland
 
NARRATIVE: On the above date and time, Dfc. Piasecki observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at Route 18 near the Kent Narrows Bridge. The vehicle travelled west on Route 18, Dfc. Piasecki attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle turned onto Dundee Avenue and then turned into a community. Dfc. Piasecki approached the driver who was the only person in the vehicle. Dfc. Piasecki asked the driver for his license and registration card. The male produced a Maryland Identification card and was identified as the male listed below. A wanted check of the male revealed he had several outstanding warrants. Dfc. Piasecki advised the driver he was under arrest and the male locked the car and shut the door. Dfc. Piasecki asked the driver for the keys, the driver stated a male came over and took the keys before Dfc. Piasecki pulled up. Dfc. Piasecki confirmed there were no other males around the car during the time of the stop. The male refused to tell officers where the keys were. A K-9 scan of the car produced a positive alert and the vehicle was towed and stored by the Sheriff’s Office. The driver was processed for the outstanding warrants. Investigation continues.
