PRESS RELEASE

INCIDENT:    Driving under the influence of Alcohol                 

DATE AND TIME REPORTED:            7/23/17      0350 hours

LOCATION:     Shorestop @ 100 Main St. Stevensville, MD 21666

NARRATIVE:   On 7/23/17 at approximately 0350 hours, a deputy observed a silver passenger vehicle cross the center line of the roadway in the area of Main St and Love Point Rd. The deputy stopped the vehicle at the Shorestop and identified the driver as Chaz Ramaine Williams (27 yr old male from Windsor Mill, MD). The deputy observed indicators of possible DUI. Williams was put through a series of sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI. Williams was issued the appropriate citations and was later released to a sober adult.

INCIDENT:         Driving without a license

DATE AND TIME REPORTED:            7/27/17     1035 hours

LOCATION:     Rt. 301 @ Hayden Rd

VICTIM:                      Pending

 

NARRATIVE:   On July 27/17 at 1035 hours, a deputy observed a green passenger vehicle with an equipment violation. The deputy stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as James Edward Bryant III (24 year old male from Teachey, NC). It was learned that Bryant did not have a valid driver’s license in any state. While handing over another form of ID, the deputy observed another driver’s license. Bryant stated it was a fake ID. A K-9 scan of the vehicle was conducted and the vehicle was then searched. During the search, another ID and credit cards belonging to a subject from New York City was located. The deputy is currently investigating as to if those items are stolen or not. No CDS was located during the search, but the subject indicated he was using CDS prior to being stopped. Bryant was then placed under arrest and transported to the office. He was issued citations for several violations including driving without a license, and possessing a fake ID. Charges are pending for the other located items. Bryant was taken to a district court commissioner and released on a $1,000.00 unsecured bond. Case remains open

INCIDENT:                    Lost Property

DATE AND TIME REPORTED:            7/27/17   1316 hours

LOCATION:     400 Block of Greenspring Rd Queenstown, MD

VICTIM:                      Thomas Reynolds

NARRATIVE:        On July 27, 2017 Deputy Pack responded to the 400 block of Greenspring Rd in Queenstown for a report of lost property. The Victim advised he lost a handicapped placard. The victim stated it may have blown out the window as he was driving. The victim was advised to contact MVA for a replacement

INCIDENT:          Theft from vehicle

DATE AND TIME REPORTED:            7/27/17    1248 hours

LOCATION:     200 block of Congressional Dr. Stevensville, MD

VICTIM:                      Nancy Oconnor

NARRATIVE:               On July 27, 2017 Deputy Matteson responded to the 200 block of Congressional Drive in Stevensville for a report of theft. He learned that several items were taken out of an unlocked vehicle sometime in the last week. The stolen items include sunglasses, change, and a handicapped placard. The total loss is valued at around $500.00. This case is being investigated.
