INCIDENT:           MDOP

DATE / TIME:      08/10/2012 @ 1511 Hours

LOCATION:         Love Point Road, Stevensville

VICTIM:               State of Maryland

ARREST:               Russell A. Crim (18) of Stevensville

CHARGE:              MDOP / Underage Possession of Alcohol

 

NARRATIVE:        Subject was observed by a Deputy throwing a beer bottle at a road sign while a passenger in a moving pickup. The truck was stopped and suspect identified. The sign was dented and valued at $200. Crim was also found to be in possession of additional beers and was placed under arrest for the MDOP and Underage Possession. A District Court Commissioner later released him on his personal recognizance.

VICTIM:               Male (19) of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:        Male (19) had told family members he was upset over employment and a relationship. The family members felt it was suicidal in nature and called the Sheriff’s Office. The male was transported by Patrol Car to Anne Arundel Medical Center for assistance.

LOCATION:         537 Romancoke Road, Stevensville

VICTIM:               Samantha L. Bowen of Stevensville

ARREST:               Brian Eugene Grimes (31) of Stevensville

CHARGE:              Assault (2nd Degree)

 

NARRATIVE:        Victim reported that she was driving home from the narrows area and that she and Grimes began to argue over drinking and driving. Bowen pulled into the parking lot of a pizza place on Romancoke Road where the two began to argue and fight. During the altercation Bowen’s head hit the windshield causing it to crack. A witness reported seeing Grimes standing over Bowen striking her with his fist. Grimes was placed under arrest for Assault. Grimes was later released on his personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

VICTIM:               Thomas Lawson of Centreville

 

NARRATIVE:        Victim reported returning home to find the family dog with an injury to its eye. The victim rushed the pug to a vet who stated the injury appeared to be consistent with someone kicking or hitting the dog. Leaving the dog at the vets for treatment, the victim returned home to find three shotguns and a compound bow missing. The shotguns were described as a Remington Mdl. 1100 12 gauge, a Remington Mdl. 1187 20 gauge, and a Remington Mdl. 820 12 gauge. The bow was a Matthews XLT women’s model. The items were valued at $4600.

NARRATIVE:        Manager of the store reported in-store surveillance had taped two African –American females taking the hangers off of baby clothes and placing the items into bags. Later in the day they returned the stolen items for in-store credit and purchased other clothing with the credit of $192.00

LOCATION:         451 A Outlet Center Drive, Queenstown

VICTIM:               Sunglass Hut

ARREST:               William Norman Jones (46) of Suitland, MD

CHARGE:              Theft, Theft Scheme, Resisting Arrest, Providing a False Name

 

NARRATIVE:        Employee at the store reported that the store was crowded with about 20 customers. After most of the shoppers had left she did a quick inventory of sunglasses and discovered 7 pairs to be missing valued at $1240. A review of security footage showed a heavy-set African-American male in a gray shirt, tan shorts and a hat with a thin African-American female in a black dress trying on sunglasses. At one point, the male can be seen handing a pair of sunglasses to the female who concealed them in her purse. The two suspects were located exiting the Old Navy store and were approached by Deputy Wilson. When confronted, the female ran one way and the male ran the opposite direction pursed by Deputy Wilson. The male was caught near the Auntie Anne’s Pretzel store and taken into custody. Search of the area failed to locate the female.

 

The male was transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing. There the male would only give his name as Mr. Bell and no other information. He also complained of chest pains, requiring EMS and transport to Chester River Hospital by Ambulance. After being released from the hospital, Mr. Bell was identified as William Norman Jones of Suitland. He was held on a $20,000 bail at the QA Detention Center.

VICTIM:               Jessica R. Wiley of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:        Victim reported being at a friend’s residence on Dixon Drive when a loud red pickup drove by and threw a case of empty beer cans at her Nissan car causing several dents and scratches. Damage was estimated at $600.

NARRATIVE:        Victim reported missing her Coach wristlet purse containing her driver’s license and checkbook from her unlocked Honda passenger car. The items had an estimated value of $80.

LOCATION:         112 South Linden Street, Sudlersville

VICTIM:               Margot W. Massie of Sudlersville              

ARREST:               Male (16) of Barclay

CHARGE:              Theft

 

NARRATIVE:        Victim observed a young male enter her Pontiac Grand Prix on the passenger side. When she yelled at him, he began to run away. Witnesses were able to give a description of the suspect and what house he had run into. Deputies went to the residence and located the suspect. A neighbor of the residence stopped and asked what was going on and the suspect told him somebody had broken into a car. The suspect made the statement before the Deputy had explained what had occurred. He was taken into custody and charged with the theft of two lighters and a pack of cigarettes. He was referred to Juvenile Services.
