INCIDENT:           Burglary

DATE / TIME:      05/01/2015

LOCATION:         900 Love Point Road, Stevensville, MD

NARRATIVE:       During after school activities, two subjects were seen entering and leaving the locker rooms twice before leaving the school in a dark 4 door sedan.  Security footage showed the two suspects, an African-American male and a white female. Several cell phones, a calculator and cash was reported missing.

The School Resource Deputy at KIHS was contacted by a school administrator who said she thought the male suspect in the school theft looked like a suspect’s photo posted on the QACSO Facebook page about counterfeit $100 bills.

Once identified charges were issued for Demetrius Stephen Kearse (28 ) of Grasonville and Hannah Maria Griebel (22) of Chester. Both subject have been arrested on numerous burglary and theft  charges. Kearse who is incarcerated on other charges was held on $100,000 bond and Griebel was released after a $25,000 bond was posted.

DATE / TIME:      05/01/2015 @ 0634 Hours

LOCATION:         600 Block of Chester River Beach Road, Grasonville

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported that this morning she had located her purse and lunch pack outside her residence after leaving them on her kitchen table the previous night. She also reported finding a circular saw nearby that did not belong to her. Victim also reported sometime between 0257 and 0400 hours her dog had barked at something or someone.

The Criminal Investigation Unit has been assigned this case which remains open.

LOCATION:         300 Block of Flat Iron Square Road, Church Hill

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported her Craftsman riding mower had been stolen from a storage shed sometime in the past month. The mower was green and valued at $2,000.

INCIDENT:           ASSAULT / THEFT

DATE / TIME:      05/03/2015 @ 0724 Hours

LOCATION:         200 Block of Olive Branch Road, Stevensville

NARRATIVE:       Victims reported that they had found an unknown male in one of their vehicles and when confronted became angry and threw a brick and chair at the husband. Victim was not injured, but their vehicle was struck by the brick.

On arrival the male had remained at location and stated he had lived there with a family member for the past two days. The suspect appeared to be intoxicated and continued to insist he lived there, even after it was learned that his family member lived across the street.

When the suspect, identified as Cheyanne Cowles (19) of Greensboro continued to remain he was placed under arrest and found to have a car charger from the victim’s vehicle in his pocket. Damages to the car were estimated at $500.

Cowles was held on a $5,000 Bond.

LOCATION:         700 Block of Granny Branch Road, Church Hill

NARRATIVE:       Technician for AT&T Wireless reported that several copper Buss Bars were stolen from the cell tower site. The theft could have occurred sometime from July 2014 to May 2015. A second location appeared to be missing 5 additional Buss Bars. Replacing the items missing was estimated at $2200.

INCIDENT:           Indecent Exposure

DATE / TIME:      05/07/2015 @ 1755 Hours (Reported)

LOCATION:         Chester, MD.

NARRATIVE:       Parents of a 13 year old Chester girl reported that while visiting a friend, an older white male had made several suggestive comments to her and then exposed his penis and asked the girl to meet him later for sex.

The man who was identified as Kenneth Duane Joyce (42) of Chester and charges of Sexual Solicitation of a Minor and two counts of Indecent Exposure were issued.

Joyce was arrested on May 11th hiding in a van on Little Creek Road in Chester. Joyce is being held at the QA Detention Center without bail.

INCIDENT:           Trespass / Resist Arrest

DATE / TIME:      05/09/2015 @ 1218 Hours

LOCATION:         300 Block of Main Street, Stevensville

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported waking up to find an ex-boyfriend sleeping in her living room. The man, Gerald Robert Kendall Jr. (50) of Stevensville had left the residence after being told to leave several times.

It was learned that Kendall was wanted by Caroline County for Violation of Probation. Deputies saw Kendall on the front porch and attempted to take him into custody. Kendall fled into the house with Cpl. Brockman in pursuit. Kendall was tackled and taken into custody.

Kendall was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest. A second warrant was served charging him with assault and reckless endangerment for choking a woman during a domestic the night before. Bail was set at $40,000 and Kendall is being held at the QA Detention Center. The Caroline Warrant was filed as a Detainer.

DATE / TIME:      05/11/2015 @ 1046 Hours (Reported)

LOCATION:         100 Block of Queens’s Colony High Road, Stevensville

NARRATIVE:       Home Owners Thomas Matson & Billie Miller reported noticing a jar of change missing. When they looked further they discovered three firearms, jewelry and cash missing.

The items taken include a Ruger .22 Magnum Revolver, a Remington .22 Pump Rifle, a gold Omega Necklace, gold earrings, and a gold wedding ring. Items were valued at $1920. The burglary is believed to have occurred sometime in April.

INCIDENT:           Drug Overdose

DATE / TIME:      05/16/2015 @ 1315 Hours

LOCATION:         Didonato Drive, Chester

NARRATIVE:       An Off-Duty Deputy saw a man passed out in a red Chevrolet Camaro with PA registration in the shopping center parking lot. After knocking several times on window the man was awakened. At that time deputies observed a syringe and a small clear wrapper with a white powdery substance was seen on the console and a further search of the car located a metal cook spoon.

Thomas Hunter Reed Robinson (35) of Berlin was charged with possession of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. He was later released on a $10,000 unsecured bond by a District Court Commissioner.

DATE / TIME:      5/16/2015 @ 1520 Hours

LOCATION:         203 Outlet Drive, Queenstown

NARRATIVE:       Manager at the POLO / Ralph Lauren store reported that an African-American female had picked up five pairs of pants and left the store without paying. The stolen pants were valued at $278.  The woman was observed leaving in a gray Jaguar with vanity tags.

The tag was run in MVA records and was listed to a 94 year old female and did not resemble the suspect’s description. Responding Deputy Scott Hogan then checked the ETIX records which indicated the Jaguar had been stopped on four separate times with an Andrea Janene Mack (47) of Westminster as the driver. Store employees were able to identify Ms. Mack as the suspect.

On May 25th an application was made charging Andrea Mack with the theft. At this time the arrest warrant has not been served.

DWI ARREST

05/03/2015 @ 0258 Hours  (RT 544 Crumpton) – Dfc. Rudy Draper stopped a Jeep Cherokee for driving 25 MPH in a 55 MPH zone and failure to remain in a single lane. Driver was identified as John T. Whalen (56) of Linwood PA.  Mr. Whalen advised he had drunk “quite a bit” and stated “I’m drunk”. Mr. Whalen was not given and Field Sobriety Tasks due to he was unable to stand for more than several seconds before needing to hold onto his vehicle. He was charged with DWI and later released on his signature at his residence in Crumpton.

 

05/06/2015 @ 2041 Hours  (Queen Victoria Way, Chester) – Witnesses reported that Corri McWilliams had driven her car at a high rate of speed and crashed into a fence. She then drove back to her residence and was seen removing her minor child out the car and going into her home.

Contact was made with Ms. McWilliams (43) of Chester who denied drinking but had several signs of being under the influence. She admitted to taking several prescriptions prior to driving. She was issued citations for DWI and Leaving the Scene of an Accident
