Cody Figiel was arrested Saturday evening by Ocean City Police. He has additional charges there including burglary and theft. He is currently being held at the Worchester County Detention Center. The stolen GMC from Queen Anne was recovered earlier in the week.

The Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff is attempting to identify the above pictured female. She is believed to be involved in the passing of counterfeit $100 bills on Kent Island, Queen Anne’s County, MD. on October 15th and 16th, 2013. Two Queen Anne’s Deputies Deputy Chris Neall and Detective Chase Armington are training to participate in the 2014 Police Unity Tour in May. The Police Unity Tour is a MAJOR fundraiser for the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC.
Hundreds of police officers ride bicycles from several different starting points to Washington DC during police week. Chris and Chase will be riding with Chapter IX, which rides from Philadelphia to Washington DC. They will be riding for 4 days to honor the fallen law enforcement officers on the wall.
An important component to their ride is the fund drive they participate in. Each one of them has to raise $1,750.00 before March 2014. To qualify to continue in the ride they must each have $500.00 raised by Dec. 1st 2013. The funds raised help pay for our supplies and lodging during the ride. The remainder of the funds go directly to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund to help with upkeep, maintenance, and adding the names of the fallen each year.
Another reason Chris and Chase are riding is to bring awareness to our Memorial. The difference between our Memorial and the other memorials in Washington DC is that ours will NEVER be complete. It will always grow as long as the brave men and women who don the badge respond to the next call after call after call. Statistically every 57 hours an officer is killed in the line of duty. Our 57th hour was on February 13th, 2001. We ride for the honor and respect of all the fallen, but especially to Deputy Jason Schwenz and Patrolman Michael Nickerson for their ultimate sacrifice.
They are asking for help with their fundraiser. No donation is too small for the fund, and they are more than appreciative for anything you can give to help them reach their goal. They can accept cash or check if you would like to be listed individually as a sponsor. All the cash we receive will be sent in as a donation from the “Citizens of Queen Anne’s County”. Donations can be sent to Kristy Conde at the Office of the Sheriff, 505 Railroad Avenue, Centreville MD 21601. She will be collecting donations for them from now until March 2014.
Deputy Christopher Neall has been a Queen Anne’s Deputy since 2012. Prior to that he was employed as an Officer with the Maryland Department of Transportation Authority beginning in 2007. He is riding to honor fallen officers QA Deputy Jason Schwenz, Officers Duke Aaron III and Cpl. Courtney Brooks from MdTA.
Detective Chase Armington has also been a Queen Anne’s Deputy since 2012. He previously worked for the Port Deposit Police Department, Perryville Police Department and a townships in Pennsylvania. He is riding to honor fallen officers QA Deputy Jason Schwenz, Centreville Officer Michael Nickerson and Officer Dennis McNamara from Upper Darby Twp., Pennsylvania.
Here is a brief history of the Police Unity Tour:
In May 1997 the Police Unity Tour was organized, by Officer Patrick P. Montuore of the Florham Park Police Department, with the hope of bringing public awareness of Police Officers who have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices.
They started with 18 riders on a four day fund-raising bicycle ride from Florham Park, NJ to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC. which raised $18,000.00. This May we had nearly 1700 members nationwide who made the trip, and we are proud to announce that we were able to donate over 1.72 Million Dollars to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, bringing our total donations to nearly 14 Million Dollars.
In late 2005, the Police Unity Tour pledged $5 Million in support of the National Law Enforcement Museum. Inspired by our commitment and our motto, “WE RIDE FOR THOSE WHO DIED” the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund has selected our organization to be the sponsor of the Museum’s Hall of Remembrance.

NARRATIVE: Store manager reported an employee had left four aluminum rims outside the bay door to the garage by mistake. Surveillance footage shows a box truck with a dark stripe in the box portion in the area during the night. The rims were valued at $1500.
