INCIDENT:       Theft from Motor Vehicle

DATE/TIME:     01/12/2012

LOCATION:      Chester River Road, Grasonville

VICTIM:           Karl E. Naecker of Grasonville

ARREST:          Alexander Lee Robinson (31) of Grasonville

CHARGES:        Theft under $1000 & Rogue and Vagabond

NARRATIVE:     Victim reported both of his vehicles had been entered during the night and was missing a West Marine water pump and the monitor for his backup camera. The water pump was described as new in the box with the receipt still in the box and valued at $133.56. Prior to calling, the victim had called West Marine and learned that a white male had been to the store and had returned a water pump with the receipt for $133.56.  The manager of the store was interviewed and reported that a subject called and stated he had purchased a water pump several months before and wanted to know about the return policy. A short time after the call the male came into the store and returned the item. The receipt was in the name of the victim. Store video showed the male and was driving a blue Ford Windstar van.

Additional investigation showed that a similar van was parked at a residence a few houses down from the victim’s residence. Contact was made with a male subject at that residence who fit the description of the male returning the pump. Identified as Alexander Lee Robinson, when asked he stated that he had found the pump and monitor in a ditch earlier in the morning. Robinson returned the monitor and cash received for the pump. Robinson stated he found the items about 0940 and was seen returning the pump 40 minutes later.

Charges were filed for Mr. Robinson on February 2nd and a Criminal Summons was served on February 7th.
