INCIDENT:           Burglary & Theft over $1000

DATE / TIME:      12/15/2015 @ 0550 Hours

LOCATION:         208 Island Plaza Court, Stevensville

DETAILS:              The alarm at Chesapeake Guns was set off with a deputy responding arriving within 10 minutes. The owner also had been notified and responded, meeting with the deputy on the scene.  It was believed that the business was secure and that it was a false alarm.

Later in the morning the co-owner arrived to open and observed drywall and insulation on the floor and called the Sheriff’s Office. It was discovered at that time that a neighboring vacant unit had been burglarized and that entry into the gun shop was made thru the wall.

Once inside 6-8 long guns and 6-8 handguns were taken from display cases. A review of security recordings show two subjects light colored clothing with hoods and gloves taking the weapons and quickly exiting back thru the hole in the wall.

The store has not completed their inventory at this time, however it is verified that two of the guns were a 12 Gauge Mossberg pump and a Browning 9mm handgun.

Anyone with information or who may have seen a suspicious vehicle in the area is urged to call the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit at (410) 758-0770. Tips can also be emailed to sheriff-info@qac.org or PM the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
