Narrative:

On 5/12/2008 at 1404 Hours the manager at the Hilton called requesting assistance with a female subject with two children sitting in the lobby. The manager also reported that the subject refused to talk or acknowledge her since checking out at noon.

Cpl. Mark Carr responded and located the subjects in the lobby. Cpl. Carr attempted to the female and she continued just staring at him with no response. One of the children advised that the woman was her mother who could indeed talk and lived in Preston. The child also stated that they lived with their mother and step-father, but he was now living with his mother in Centreville.

Social Services and Mid-Shore Family Violence were also contacted as the subject was possibly a victim of abuse, but the female refused to talk to either.

With the assistance of the children, the step-father was located and he responded to the hotel to take custody of the children. He also advised that he and his wife recently separated and he had left as they were not getting along.

Cpl. Carr then attempted to communicate with the female advising she was going to the hospital for an evaluation. The female refused to cooperate and resisted getting out of the chair and being handcuffed. With the assistance of Deputy Svehla and Dfc. Lopez had to carry the subject to a patrol car as she was kicking and yelling.

The female was transported to Easton Memorial Hospital and released to hospital staff.
