Incident Type: Staff attends Training Location: Centreville / Easton Date/Time of Occurrence: May 2008

Narrative:

Recently members of the Queen Anne Sheriff's attended several training classes held in the area. All sergeants and ranks above completed the NIMS (National Incident Management System) Intermediate Command System 300 as required by Department of Homeland Security. This class introduces unified command structures for expanding incidents, resource management and demobilization involving numerous emergency service agencies.

Following that, Sheriff Hofmann and his command staff (Lieutenants and above) completed an additional two days of instruction of ICS 400 training for management of complex incidents, area commands and multi agency coordination for natural disasters and terrorist attacks.

Both classes were instructed by Homeland Security personnel from around the United States and was hosted at the Queen Anne County Health Department.

On May 13th, Sheriff Hofmann and Sheriff Pope from Talbot County co-hosted a class on Trends in Fraudulent Documents dealing with forged passports, fake driver's licenses, Social Security Cards and other forms of identification. The class was presented by Steven Hess of the United States Attorney's Office and Lt. Bob Carter from Montgomery County Police Department and held at the Talbot County Community Center. Staff members from both agencies along with members from the Coast Guard, MdTA Police and Worchester County Sheriff's Office were in attendance.
