Narrative:

Dfc. Mike Pinkosz and Sgt. Johnston responded to Weedon Street for an Officer in distress.

Centreville Police Officer Conrad Meil had responded the area for a suspicious male walking around vehicles looking inside of them. Soon after Meil asked for additional units followed by several key up radio transmissions with the sound of scuffling in background.

Upon arrival, Pinkosz and Johnston arrived and saw a male subject on top of Meil on the ground just behind the Centreville Police Car. The suspect ignored orders to stop and then was knocked off of Meil by Pinkosz. The suspect continued to resist by fists and kicking Pinkosz and Johnston. The subject was tasered which allowed officers to get one hand cuffed and then the subject began to resist again. After the subject was tasered a second time, deputies were able to get the second hand and legs cuffed.

A large martial arts type knife was recovered on the ground and had fallen out of the suspects pants during the scuffle.

Several residents had exited their homes as the incident was occurring and several calls had been made to 911 requesting more police to assist the officer.

The suspect's father also arrived and advised that his son has mental problems and was on new medication and had not slept for two days. The suspect had reportedly arrived in Centreville at about 0300 hours to see an ex-girlfriend.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital for an emergency petition by Centreville Police. Charges are pending.
