Narrative:
Following reports of a fight in progress at the Royal Farms Store between Church Hill and Kingstown, several units were dispatched to location. Upon arrival of Deputy Michael C. Jordan and Cpl. Troy Lowery, they found an off duty deputy, Dfc. Lee Becker detaining a female subject in the parking lot.
Becker reported that he had observed a female, Jessica Anne Jacquette in a fight and was kicking the victim, Kristina M. Kaufman in the head and shoulders and causing a crowd to gather in the parking lot. Becker identified himself as a Police Officer and displayed his ID and then intervened, placing Jacquette under arrest.
At this time, Jacquette%u219s sister, Cody Bernadette Patterson came over and struck Jacquette with her hand. Seeing This Becker also advised her that she also was under arrest, with Patterson yelling that he wasn%u219t a cop. Both females continued to yell and cause a disturbance in the parking lot. Patterson also continued to interfere with the arrest of Jacquette to an extent that she was able to break away momentarily from Becker and had to be restrained.
When Jordan and Lowery arrived both females were taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff%u219s Office. Investigation indicated that Jacquette had struck Kaufman first at the request of a friend.
Jacquette was charged with Assault 2nd Degree / Disorderly Conduct / Resisting Arrest and held on a $5,000 Bail.
Patterson was charged with Assault 2nd Degree / Disorderly Conduct / Obstruction & Hindering and was also held on a $5,000 Bail.
The victim did not report any injuries.
