PRESS RELEASE

INCIDENT: Fraud/Forgery
DATE/TIME: 06/27/2018 approximately 2:50pm
LOCATION: 200 Block of Agnes St., Church Hill MD
VICTIM: 28yo female of Church Hill, MD
DETAILS: Deputies responded to the above address in reference to a past fraud complaint. The preliminary investigation revealed that an individual had made a fraudulent account in February 2018 from BGE. The individual produced a bill for $1000 in March of 2018 and opened up an insurance claim through Progressive Insurance for $167. This investigation was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Unit for further investigation. Anyone with information that would assist with this investigation is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Unit at the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff.

INCIDENT: Motor vehicle crash
DATE/TIME: 06/27/2018 approximately 3:45pm
LOCATION: 100 Block of Duke St, Stevensville MD
DRIVER: Richard Dennis Dechant, 64yo male of Annapolis MD
DETAILS: Deputies responded to the above address in reference to a motor vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver had a medical emergency, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and run into a pole. The vehicle was described as a Black in color Toyota Tundra Pickup truck, bearing a Maryland registration. The Toyota was incapacitated and had to be towed from the scene. The driver received medical attention.

INCIDENT: Theft: Over $1,000
DATE/TIME: 6/27/18 at 4:35 PM
LOCATION: 100 Block of Jean Rd of Stevensville, MD
VICTIM: 47yo male of Stevensville, MD
DETAILS: Dep Sutton responded to the above location in reference to a theft of kayaks. Upon arrival, Dep Sutton made contact with the victim. The victim reported that his kayaks were stolen from the dock located at the rear of his residence. The theft occurred between 6/26/18 at 6:00 PM and 6/27/18 at 7:00 AM. Both are valued at $1,600. No suspects or witnesses have been identified in this investigation.
The kayaks were described to be:
1. Epic, V5, one seater, white
2. Lifetime, Wave, one seater, blue
